

Welcome to Thurber Counseling! My name is Liz and I have a background in mental health and school counseling.
Welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in PA and MI. I believe in providing a non-judgmental space and personal connection to open up the opportunity for you to explore what's causing strain in your life: grief, anxiety, depression, past trauma, or other challenges. I offer practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
If you're feeling exhausted, anxious, weary, or down.. I believe there is a way to strengthen your sense of self, set realistic expectations and boundaries that value your needs, and bring yourself and your loved ones the best of you.
I have over 10 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings since obtaining my Master's degree and becoming a licensed clinician. I use a client centered approach that draws from my training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, and a trauma-informed approach. I have worked with people struggling with addictions, a wide variety of anxiety related difficulties, ADHD, depression, and some bodily focused repetitive behaviors. I also have experience working with couples to address relationship needs.
Brittany is a holistic clinician and owner of Tender Soule Wellness. She is a licensed queer black counselor and dance/movement therapist. Brittany is warm, energetic, inquisitive, and empathetic. Creating sacred spaces for clients to express themselves fully is Brittany's primary focus.

I work with women in the seasons of big change that come with this chapter of life: fertility journeys, pregnancy and postpartum, identity shifts, and the kind of stress that doesn't go away when the day ends. My background as a school counselor taught me how to sit with people in the messy parts of their stories and stay calm when emotions feel like too much. I'd be honored to do that work alongside you.

I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and PCIT (Parent-Child Interactive Therapy), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work closely with clients to address trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges using proven therapy models.
