I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience. I work with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, grief, social skills using a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches.
Therapy can feel uncomfortable and it’s difficult to open up and be honest with ourselves. You don’t have to continue to live with these challenges. When you’re in an environment that’s free of judgement and genuine care you’ll soon realize that change is possible.
One of my greatest assets is, I Recognize Un-Nurtured Pain. I have 17 years of experience as a clinical counselor. I deem myself an energetic, empathetic, resourceful, and compassionate counseling professional with proven ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I fully grasp the emotional and residual effects of how unresolved childhood issues, chemical substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD impact one’s daily life. Moreover, the low self-esteem, decreased self-worth, powerlessness, and hopelessness those issues incite.
Change in life is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay stuck in the chaos. My passion is helping people learn how to handle life changes successfully. I love seeing people grow and blossom as they overcome the challenges life throws their way. I help my clients thrive by aiding them to identify the patterns and habits that interfere with their growth. I believe my job is to empower you to improve your life.
Looking inward isn’t easy. It takes hard work to look at the stuff that keeps getting in the way of having the life you want. Often times it’s fear, other times it’s something more concrete. No matter what barriers you’re facing, together we can work through the fears and accomplish your goals. We all need support and someone to walk along side us, see the light when we cannot, and hold us until we’re on the other side.
I am a Licensed Independent Marriage & Family Therapist with over 5 years of experience working with clients in a variety of settings. I am experienced in working with clients who have diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relational stress.
I believe we are whole and complete, yet the structures and communities we live in might have us feeling like we are lacking, broken, and/or that there is something “wrong” with us. Life can be hard, and it can make us hard. Hard on ourselves, hard on the people we love, and hard on the people we interact with. As we grow and live through the natural stages of life, and the expected and unexpected events that arise, the strategies we consciously or unconsciously developed throughout our life to keep us safe and regulated might no longer be working for us. They might even be causing us distress or dysfunction. Our helpful coping strategies have become unhelpful, and this is where therapy comes in.
Hi, I’m Shruthi Nair, a South Asian American therapist and the founder of Bold Brown Therapy. I specialize in supporting South Asian and BIPOC individuals navigating anxiety, depression, cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, body image concerns, chronic illness, and life transitions. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, and IFS while creating a culturally affirming and compassionate space where clients feel seen and understood. I earned my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and have a background in neuropsychology and mental health counseling. Through therapy, I aim to help clients build healthier relationships with themselves while balancing cultural expectations, family dynamics, and personal growth.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in PA. I have worked in the field for seven years and have been trained in various therapeutic modalities, including TF-CBT, CBT, ERP, BFRB, ACT, Motivational interviewing, CPT, and PE. I specialize in trauma and anxiety disorders.
I unexpectedly began the journey to become a therapist when I accepted a job as a client coordinator at a non-profit organization that worked exclusively with childhood sexual abuse survivors. I quickly fell in love with the clients and supportive staff and decided to return to school to earn my master's degree in clinical social work. I was a single mom and 40 years old when this new adventure began. It was the best decision of my life. I am humbled to support my clients as they share their most vulnerable selves. Watching positive change happen in their lives as we work together is an immeasurable gift.
I like to think of myself as the metropolitan psychologist with a southern flair! I've developed a style of working with people that is a beautiful marriage of my extensive training, dynamic personality, and passion for helping folx actualize their best selves. I am a clinical psychologist by training and a Pennsylvania-certified school psychologist. With a specialized interest and training in human sexuality, I am also an AASECT-certified sex therapist, or clinical sexologist.
You may be used to being the strong one—the person others rely on—but lately you might feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just not like yourself. You may be dealing with depression, relationship challenges, or a life transition that’s left you feeling stuck. If you’re tired of just getting through the day and want to feel more like yourself again, therapy can help. I work with adults across all life stages who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and major life changes.
